Electrical inspection comments — service entrance, main panel, double-tapped breakers, missing GFCI/AFCI, aluminum wiring, federal pacific panels, recall language.

Sample Comments

Safety Double-Tapped Breaker

Two conductors terminated under a single breaker lug at position 14 of the main panel. Violates NEC 110.14 unless breaker is specifically listed for two conductors. Recommend correction by a licensed electrician.

Safety Federal Pacific Panel

Main panel manufactured by Federal Pacific Electric (Stab-Lok). FPE panels have a documented history of breaker failure to trip under fault conditions, creating a fire risk. Recommend evaluation and likely replacement by a licensed electrician.

Safety Zinsco Panel

Main panel manufactured by Zinsco. Zinsco panels have a documented history of breaker failure to trip and bus bar damage. Recommend evaluation and likely replacement by a licensed electrician.

Concern Aluminum Branch Circuits

Aluminum branch circuit wiring identified at the panel (15 amp and 20 amp circuits). Aluminum branch wiring is associated with overheated connections at receptacles and switches. Recommend evaluation by a licensed electrician familiar with aluminum mitigation (CO/ALR devices or COPALUM crimps).

Concern Missing GFCI — Kitchen

No GFCI protection observed at kitchen countertop receptacles. Current code requires GFCI protection at kitchen counters. Recommend GFCI installation by a licensed electrician.

Concern Missing GFCI — Bathroom

No GFCI protection observed at bathroom receptacles. Current code requires GFCI protection in bathrooms. Recommend GFCI installation by a licensed electrician.

Concern Missing AFCI — Bedrooms

No AFCI protection observed at bedroom branch circuits. Current code requires AFCI protection in bedrooms. Recommend AFCI installation by a licensed electrician.

Safety Exposed Splice

An open electrical splice was observed in the basement ceiling near the laundry area. Open splices are a fire and shock hazard. Recommend correction by a licensed electrician — install in an approved junction box with cover plate.
